Abstract

The text presented is part of a broader research of analysis of the discriminations that in Western history have been repeated by males against women with particular attention to the scientific communities: with respect to Astronomy, the paths of women who have had to face difficulties, which have suffered abuses, and whose discoveries have not been recognized. Some psychological consequences of considering science as a male activity are presented. The achievements and contributions of women in Western astronomy are highlighted.
