Ecological Transition Plan: change of scenery?

Abstract

The Ecological Transition Plan (PTE), drawn up by the Italian Government in 2021, is an ambitious project to abandon energy sources that release carbon dioxide. However, there is no mention of strategies that contemplate the reduction of energy consumption, entrusting economic growth, the same one that has determined the serious environmental problems which the PTE proposes to remedy, the driving force for the change of energy sources to be used for the production of goods and services. In any case, whatever solution the continuous technological development will allow to adopt, the clash with new limits of the carrying  capacity allowed by the planet to a population in continuous economic growth will be inevitable.
