Abstract

Alien species, typical of areas of the earth different from those in which they can be found, due to escape from captivity, intentional release, passive transport, etc., become invasive when they start to reproduce and create stable and self-sufficient populations. The main impacts or competitive interactions hypothesized and/or recognized can be, for example, predation of local species, alteration of the growth of native species, transfer of parasites.
