Abstract

The text presented here is the introduction to the book by Maria Arcà and Paolo Mazzoli Chi vince al tiro alla fune?, Edizioni MCE, Rome, 2020. It is a re-edition, but it could be written for today's schools, still largely part reluctant to enhance pupils' curiosity to make it the most important ingredient of learning. It focuses on the methods of interaction between teachers and students, on the role of the teacher in stimulating and guiding discussions and on the "scenarios" useful for supporting effective teaching.
