Science in times of uncertainty and the ecological evolution of pandemics

Abstract

The image of science is being tested by the pandemic emergency. The science of quantification and experimental verification must be rethought and recontextualized. Covid-19, showing the fragility of predictions and the partiality of reductionist reasoning, can represent a formidable "interdisciplinarity accelerator", which forces us to combine algorithm, experimentation, modeling with historical explanation and systemic vision.
