Based on the tracings (1:1) of the very badly damaged
paintings of the Tomba Maggi in Tarquinia, it was possible
not only to deduce the number of figures depicted
on the side walls from the few fragmentary painted areas,
but also to recognize their function in the pictorial context.
The reconstruction drawing, in which all the remains
of color and lines are integrated, is intended to make the
action of the figures visible and thus to allow the events
represented to be understood correctly.
