The essay proposes a new interpretation of the scene of
a metope on the slab of the Tarquinia Museum, from the
Monterozzi Necropolis (Bruni 1986, n. 9), considering it a
derivation from the images of an Attic kantharos by Sokles,
found in Vulci.
