According to the analyses of countless scholars from different disciplines since the late 1970s, capitalist societies have been characterised by increasing precarisation, as much economic-work as social ties. That it is analyzed according to a sociological perspective or according to a psychoanalytic would seem that there is a decay of the third, that is, a distrust of institutions in the first case and a loss of operation of the paternal function in the second. So psychoanalysts, who would follow Lacan’s teaching, would make them their expression "evaporation of the father" to read the discomfort of such civilizations. Putting the clinic at the center, the article wants to grasp the contradictions of this diagnostic interpretation by demonstrating not only its theoretical groundlessness but also as its use nostalgic and reactionary political foods.
