Abstract

Symbolism as the use of symbols has been the focus of
research for decades. The present contribution originates
from investigations carried out in recent years and is the
derivative of some glimpses made in the symbolism of
ancient Italy. The intention is to decline the reading of
material data in their respective contexts without chronological and spatial limits. These are some emblematic cases detected in both funerary and habitation testimony.
The intent is to plumb whether a further reading with
more specific and circumscribed function is possible
within the symbol. The question mainly invests divinities.
