Author Guidelines

Processo di produzione editoriale e revisione tra pari

I contributi inviati alla rivista Ostraka per la pubblicazione saranno sottoposti a valutazione attraverso un processo di peer-review con doppio anonimato. La procedura di accettazione prevede una prima fase di esame da parte della Direzione, la quale valuterà la conformità alla linea editoriale della rivista e il rispetto dei principi del codice etico adottato. La decisione sulla possibilità di procedere alla pubblicazione sarà comunicata entro un massimo di tre settimane. In una seconda fase il saggio verrà inviato per la peer-review a due studiosi esperti sull'argomento trattato, che dispongano delle competenze necessarie per valutare la correttezza metodologica e i contenuti dell’articolo sottoposto. I loro nominativi saranno conservati in un apposito elenco dalla Direzione della rivista, che avrà cura di archiviarli, assicurandone l’anonimato. I revisori si esprimeranno positivamente (A), negativamente (B) o con riserva (C), entro il termine massino di due settimane. La Rivista garantisce l'anonimato reciproco tra i revisori e l'autrice/autore secondo il metodo double blind (a doppio cieco). Nel caso di un forte disaccordo tra i due revisori, la Direzione e il Comitato Editoriale si riservano il diritto di richiedere un ulteriore parere e avviare un secondo ciclo di revisione. I contatti tra Direzione, revisori e autrici/autori avverranno tramite e-mail. Su richiesta, la Direzione può rivelare l’identità di revisori e di autrici/autori solo al termine del processo di revisione e unicamente per consentire un contatto diretto. Autrici/autori e revisori sono invitati a contattare la Direzione in caso di controversie o segnalazioni. Una volta avviato l’iter di pubblicazione, la Direzione si interfaccerà con il Comitato Editoriale per la gestione di tale processo. Anche dopo l'avvio di questo processo, la Direzione si riserva il diritto di interrompere la procedura non proseguendo con la pubblicazione dell’articolo, qualora si manifesti il rifiuto da parte dell’autore ad accogliere i suggerimenti forniti dall’editore o il mancato adeguamento alle indicazioni dei revisori. In caso di parere favorevole, o qualora siano necessarie modifiche, l'autore dovrà apportare gli interventi richiesti al contributo e trasmetterlo nuovamente alla Redazione entro due settimane dall’ultima comunicazione.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Copyright Notice

Copyrights are transferred for two years starting publication date from the author(s) to the Publisher. After this period, the content is released under a Creative Commons licence (Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International).

Issue files are only available for download by subscription for 24  months from the date of publication. After the embargo period, the content becomes open access and is subject to the Creative Commons Generic Licence version 4.0 (cc. By 4.0). Copyright in individual articles passes to the publisher on the date of publication of the article and reverts to the authors at the end of the embargo period.

The journal does not charge authors for the publication of their articles. 

If the author wishes to request immediate Open Access publication of his/her contribution, without waiting for the end of the embargo period, a fee of EUR 500.00 will be charged. To make this type of request, please contact our administrative office (amministrazione@edizioniets.com) and the journal manager (journals@edizioniets.com), indicating: the title of the article, the details of the file to which it belongs, the details of the person to whom the invoice should be addressed, the existence of any research funding.
