Experience is only the first step

Abstract

The article reports on Maria Arcà's speech at the conclusion of the residential workshop of study and training "Teaching Science. Imagining the invisible" that took place in May 2022 in San Panfilo d'Ocre (see the poster on p. 60). Here, teachers united by years of shared work, spent two days of discussions, experiences, comparisons and convivial evenings. With the help and valuable participation of scientist friends, they were explored the possibilities and ways in which scientific thinking manages to imagine the invisible, building models of abstract thought from experiences and observations of reality.
