Energy communities: a concrete experience of Citizen Science
Abstract
The era of fossil fuels is now in its twilight but we are experiencing all its dramatic consequences: the planet appears to be in decline; incapable of supporting the exploitation of resources by man, who in turn is gripped by a structural crisis in which economic, environmental and social problems converge. The problem is evident and human responsibility recognized. If we really want to get out of the crisis and build a more sustainable society, we must abandon the old standards of the past. With the advent of renewable sources and energy communities, which are subverting the previous economic system, it no longer makes sense to talk about proprietary, divisive and exclusive energy. The abundance and gratuitousness of the energy given by the water, the sun and the wind makes the very concept of private property inapplicable, instead promoting the idea of the common good.
