Between March and April 1941, three new Italian school grammars were published: the Grammatica italiana con esercizi ad uso della scuola media by Francesco A. Ugolini, La lingua nazionale by Bruno Migliorini and the Introduzione alla grammatica by Giacomo Devoto. Although different in approach, structure and purpose, all three testify to a change of pace in the history of Italian school grammar and offer models of grammar teaching that are still worthy of reflection today.
