These pages aim to analyse the philosophical reflection that Coseriu has placed at the foundation of his own integral linguistics. The work of reconstructing the Coserian reflection will be developed through the analysis of three key traits that characterize language in the linguist’s perspective: the apprehension of the world, the technical knowledge and the dialogic essence. These three elements, in our opinion, present heterogeneous philosophical matrices that we will try to unveil through the analysis of the philosophical reflection concerning the essence of the language which sets up the Coserian linguistics.
